We’ll meet in the parking lot near Men’s Wearhouse (985 E. Birch) at 6:00 p.m. It is located in the Target/24 Hour Fitness Shopping Center. We’ll be doing Rosemarie’s Run. If anybody would like a shorter run…you can make this an out-and-back run. If you run up Santa Fe Drive to Naranjal…that is around the 2 mile mark. You could turn around here, instead of going all the way to Valencia.
Welcome MELISSA!!! Melissa ran with the group in Tustin on Saturday.
Zion Half Marathon (April 1, 2017): Registration for the Zion Half Marathon is now open. The race takes place on Saturday, April 1, 2017. The cost is $99 plus any applicable registration fees. There is a generous refund policy, with a full refund until 8/5/16 (less any applicable registration fees.) Sharon, Alicia and Cindy ran the Lake Powell 1/2 in October and Rick did Yosemite, which were also races offered through this organization. They all really enjoyed the runs and said that the organizers did an excellent job. The races don’t actually take place in the national park, but you will be in the area and can explore the park on your own.
Cindy has set up a team “Brea Runners”. The password is: brfriends (all lower case) If there is a minimum of 6 team members (max is 12), everyone on the team will receive a $10 refund at the expo. So far, 8 people have signed up: Alicia, Cara, Chris, Cindy, Mason, Melanie (Chris’ daughter), Monica, Sharon If you are interested in running this race…you ought to register soon since they do expect it to sell out quickly.
You will find travel information on their website. Getting there is a little challenging since there really are no major airports in the immediate vicinity. Cindy is thinking that the best way to get there is…ROAD TRIP! But, check out the travel info because there are some airport options.
The race will start at Zion Ponderosa Ranch Resort. The resort is listed in the travel information section as a host hotel. They have various size cabins for lodging that sleep from 2 to 16 people. The group could possible stay in one of the larger cabins and save money. It would probably be best to book lodging as soon as possible.
If you register for this race or have any questions, please contact Cindy or Sharon.
