We’ll meet at the Fullerton Courthouse at 7:00 a.m. (near the intersection of Brea Blvd. & Harbor Blvd…behind the Ralphs)  1275 N. Berkeley Ave.  Fullerton, CA  92832  We park in the lower parking lot.  We have several mileage options available.

Welcome Home CARA and MASON!!!  In case you haven’t heard the news…Cara and Mason have moved back to the OC from Henderson, NV.  They purchased their first home in Orange, which they and their 3 cats are enjoying.

Happy Running CORRIN, NATASHA and SCOTT!!!  These 3 will be running the OC 1/2 Marathon on Sunday.  This is a great race with a beautiful course.

Welcome SOPHIE!!!  Sandi, Juan and JT have a new addition to their family.  They adopted a cute little 3 month old puppy named Sophie.

We will meet in the Yorba Linda Community Center parking lot at 6:00 p.m.  This is the community center that we run past on the Nixon Trail.  It is on the corner of Imperial Hwy and Casa Loma Ave.  We park in the parking lot that you enter from Casa Loma Ave.  The address is:  4845 Casa Loma Ave.   Yorba Linda 92885.

Directions for Lori’s Run (5.1 miles)

Run EAST along the trail towards Nixon Library

When you get to the Nixon Library, cross the street at Yorba Linda Blvd.

Continue on the trail

Go through the tunnel at Lakeview

Make a RIGHT turn onto Lakeview

Enter the trail, which you will see on your right side

There is a fork in the road near a cluster of homes.  Stay on your RIGHT and continue on the trail

You will pass the Equestrian Center on your right side.

Continue on the trail, which ends at Buena Vista Ave. and Grandview

Turn LEFT on Grandview.

At the end of the Grandview cul-de-sac, turn around and return to the Community Center

Spring Up and Run Virtual 5K:  Brittany’s Up and Running Again organization is having a Virtual 5K for the 2nd year in a row.  You can register for this through Orange County Community Foundation’s Heart OC Giving Day Campaign (see link below), which will allow participating non-profits in Orange County (including Up and Running Again) to have a giving page on their website for 30 hours.  Any donations received will make them eligible for extra earnings from their bonus pool and prizes.  You can run the virtual 5K any time, but registration is only for 30 hours: April 27 at 6 a.m. – April 28 at noon ONLY!

We will be meeting in a parking lot on Associated Rd. just up the street (heading north) from Mercury Insurance (1700 Greenbriar Lane in Brea) at 7:00 a.m.   This parking lot is adjacent to Associated Rd. and across the street from Chevy Chase Dr. (2 blocks south of Birch St.)  We decided that it would be better to meet here rather than the Mercury lot since Mercury Insurance is on private property.  You can see the parking lot on the west side of Associated in the photo below.

Here are some mileage options:

6 Mile Run – If you run to the corner of Golden Ave. and McCormack Ave…it is approximately 3 miles

8 Mile Run – If you run to Prospect Ave. on the trail…it is approximately 4 miles

10 Mile Run – If you run to the Community Center…it is approximately 5 miles

We’ll meet near the Snail’s Pace store at 6:00 p.m. We gather in front of the In Flower floral shop (1050 E. Imperial Hwy. Brea), which is located between Snail’s Pace and Tempo Urban Kitchen.  We’ll be doing the Craig Park to Tri-City Park run. It is approximately 4.4 miles if you run once around Tri-City Park lake. If you run twice around the lake, that will make it a 5 mile run.

Welcome Back CHERIE, ROB, JUAN and JT!!!  Cherie and Rob are back running with the group after a very long running hiatus.  Also, Juan has recovered from his recent foot surgery and came out last week for a short run with his dog, JT.  It’s nice to have you all back running with us again!!

Pushups For Charity 5K Fun Run/Walk (Sat. May 7, 2016):  Christina will be running this 5K, along with the Irvine Police Department.  The registration fee is $35 and donations obtained from the 5K will be disseminated to military veterans through The Boot Campaign.  Christina invites all of her BR friends to come out and run this with her!

We’ll meet in the parking lot near Men’s Wearhouse (985 E. Birch) at 6:00 p.m.  It is located in the Target/24 Hour Fitness Shopping Center. New Run tonight!  John mapped a new run, where part of the route is along a portion of the new railway trail that has been completed in Brea.

We will meet in the parking lot of Jr. High Park in Brea at 6:00 p.m. This park is located at 400 N. Brea Blvd. Please note: there are 2 parking lots for this park…one on Brea Blvd. and one on Lambert Ave. We will be parking in the parking lot on Brea Blvd. The entrance to this parking lot is just north of Lambert Ave…on the east side of Brea Blvd.

We will meet at the Starbucks on the NW corner of La Palma and Imperial Hwy. at 7:00 a.m.  Starbuck’s is located next to Knowlwood’s.  Here is the address for Knowlwood’s:  5665 E. La Palma Ave. Anaheim Hills, CA 92807

We have a plethora of different options for runs.  The Starbucks Run has 3 mileage options.  Also…if you prefer a flatter run…just run down Imperial and catch the river trail and run any distance that you would like.

Starbucks Run Directions:

6 miles – When you get to Fairmont Blvd (just after the 3 miles point)…make a RIGHT (instead of a left) down Fairmont and then a RIGHT on La Palma back to Starbucks

8.4 miles – Follow the Yorba Linda Starbuck’s Route as mapped

10.4 miles – When you get to the corner of Lakeview and Yorba Linda Blvd…run WEST on Yorba Linda Blvd. and catch the Nixon Library Trail.  Run to the Community Center and back.  Continue with the rest of the Starbuck’s route as mapped.
