We’ll meet near the Snail’s Pace store at 6:00 p.m. We gather in front of the In Flower floral shop (1050 E. Imperial Hwy. Brea), which is located between Snail’s Pace and Tempo Urban Grill. Elaine’s Run will take us up Redwood Ave, where several homes built in the 1920’s were relocated. Just look for the red pavers on the street and sidewalk at Birch and Redwood.
Welcome MARIA!!! Maria joined us for our Brea 8K run on Tuesday. It was a pleasure meeting you and hope to see you again soon!
Tips for Running in Humidity: Sandi sent this interesting article on how to deal with running on hot humid days.
BR Movie Night: Instead of running in possibly hot humid weather…let’s get together to watch a running-related movie…in an air conditioned theater!
RUN FREE – The True Story of Caballo Blanco will premiere in Brea, CA, on Tuesday, September 1 at 7 p.m. at the Curtis Theatre at the Brea Civic and Cultural Center, 1 Civic Center Circle, in Brea. The feature-length documentary is about ultra-running legend Micah True. Better known as Caballo Blanco – the White Horse – True, was the focal character of Christopher McDougall’s 2009 best-selling book “Born to Run: A Hidden Tribe, Superathletes and the Greatest Race the World Has Never Seen” about the Tarahumara Indians of northern Mexico. The one-night-only event is sponsored by A Snail’s Pace running store and club. Tickets are $12 in advance at www.imathlete.com/events/runfree or $15 at the door the night of the show. Since it’s possible that tickets may sell out…it’s recommended that you purchase your tickets ahead of time.
Oh sorry I see it now, thank you!!!
I read the book “Born to Run” several years ago. Great story & book! I’ll be searching for the movie up here!
Will there be a run on Aug 6th or movie night?
The movie is on Sept. 1st. We will be running on Aug. 6th. We’ll meet near
the Nothing Bundt Cake and flower shop…just to the left of Snail’s Pace.
