We will be joining the CA Cruisers for a run around the Back Bay in Newport Beach.  We will meet at 7:00 a.m. in the parking lot of Bob Henry Park.  (Directions are below.)  The planned run is an approximate 10 to 11 mile loop.  Of course, I realize that many of us would prefer a shorter run.  So…you have the option of running out and back.  (For example…if you only want to run 8 miles, then you would run 4 miles out and then turn around and run back to the starting point.)  For those wanting more miles…you may continue on the bike trail for as far as you would like. Don’t forget to bring water with you!  The Stands informed me that there is fresh water available to refill your bottles at mile 1, 7 and 8.8 mile points.

Directions:  Bob Henry Park is at Dover Drive and Castaways Lane in Newport Beach.  You take the 55 Fwy South and continue on past the end of the freeway.  Turn LEFT on 17th Street (17th changes it’s name to to Westcliff Drive.)  Turn RIGHT onto Dover Drive and in 0.3 miles turn LEFT on Castaways Lane.  (The street opposite Castaways Lane is 16th Street.)  On your left-hand side, there will be lots of free parking spaces, bathrooms, and a grassy field.

The GPS address for Bob Henry Park is 800 Dover Drive,  Newport Beach,  92660.  Yahoo Maps can show you the location if you enter the following URL:      http://tinyURL.com/BackBayBobHenry

Happy Birthday MICHELLE and ROBERTO!!!  They both celebrate their birthdays on Friday.  We hope that you have a spectacular day!

Happy Birthday BREA RUNNERS!!!  I just realized that our running group is 4 years old this month.  If I were a better statistician…I would be able to tell you the exact date of our very first run…which route we ran…how many miles we’ve run over the 4 years, etc.  But, I’m not.  So…all I can say is ‘Time flies when you’re having fun!’

Be strong (2)
